On Sunday, a tragic incident occurred in Sant Kabir Nagar district where a young boy drowned in the Saryu River. According to police reports, the victim has been identified as Shourya Ojha, aged 12. He had gone to the Bidhar Ghat of the Saryu River to bathe with his grandfather, Nityanand Ojha, when he accidentally ventured into deeper waters and drowned.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Ram Krishna Mishra stated that local divers jumped into the river upon noticing the situation. After approximately half an hour of searching, they managed to retrieve Shourya from the water and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff. The police are currently investigating the incident, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
